Identità non umane e Zero Trust: come proteggere applicazioni, bot e agenti AI

Guida alla resilienza informatica e alla governance NIS2 La Direttiva NIS2 non chiede alle aziende soltanto di rafforzare le difese informatiche. Chiede soprattutto di cambiare il modo in cui il rischio cyber viene governato: non più come un tema tecnico da delegare all’IT, ma come una responsabilità strategica che coinvolge la direzione, i processi decisionali, la continuità operativa e la catena di fornitura. Che cos’è la Direttiva NIS2? La NIS2 è la normativa europea pensata per aumentare il livello comune di cybersicurezza nei settori più critici dell’Unione Europea. In Italia è stata recepita con il D.Lgs. 138/2024 e attribuisce all’Agenzia per la Cybersicurezza Nazionale il ruolo di Autorità competente NIS. Il suo obiettivo è rendere le organizzazioni più preparate a prevenire, gestire e notificare gli incidenti significativi, riducendo l’impatto su servizi, clienti, fornitori e continuità aziendale. Perché la NIS2 riguarda direttamente il Board? La novità più importante della NIS2 è il passaggio dalla cybersecurity come presidio tecnico alla cybersecurity come responsabilità di governance. Gli organi di gestione devono approvare le misure di gestione del rischio cyber, supervisionarne l’attuazione e assicurarsi che siano disponibili risorse, ruoli e processi adeguati. In altre parole, la sicurezza informatica diventa una leva di business continuity e accountability. Cosa insegna un incidente ransomware reale? Un ransomware può bloccare un’azienda molto prima di arrivare alla cifratura dei dati. In un caso reale, che ha coinvolto un’organizzazione con oltre 1.000 dipendenti, l’attacco ha fermato logistica e produzione perché mancavano presidi di governance, segmentazione e risposta strutturata. Le vulnerabilità tecniche erano il sintomo di un problema più profondo: l’assenza di decisioni preventive condivise tra IT, operations e direzione. • Mancanza di MFA: gli accessi VPN non protetti hanno aumentato il rischio di compromissione degli account. • Sistemi legacy e obsoleti: tecnologie come Windows Server 2003 hanno ampliato la superficie d’attacco. • Assenza di segmentazione: la mancata separazione tra reti IT e OT ha favorito il movimento laterale degli attaccanti. • Vulnerabilità non corrette: firewall e sistemi non aggiornati hanno lasciato aperti punti di ingresso già noti. Come si costruisce una vera cyber resilience? La resilienza informatica non coincide con l’acquisto di nuove tecnologie. Significa sapere cosa fare quando qualcosa va storto, chi deve decidere, quali sistemi sono prioritari, quali fornitori vanno coinvolti e quali tempi di ripristino sono realmente sostenibili per il business. Un Incident Response Plan efficace non è un documento statico da mostrare in audit. È un processo vivo, testato e aggiornato. Le simulazioni periodiche, come i table top exercise, servono proprio a creare memoria operativa nei team: durante una crisi non c’è tempo per inventare ruoli, escalation e priorità. Quali sono gli obblighi di notifica degli incidenti NIS2? Per i soggetti che rientrano nel perimetro NIS2, la gestione di un incidente significativo prevede tempi di comunicazione molto stretti verso il CSIRT Italia tramite i canali previsti dall’ACN. Il punto essenziale è prepararsi prima: quando l’incidente viene scoperto, il cronometro è già partito. • Pre-notifica entro 24 ore: primo avviso dell’incidente significativo, anche se le informazioni sono ancora parziali. • Notifica entro 72 ore: aggiornamento con una prima valutazione di gravità, impatto e indicatori disponibili. • Relazione finale entro un mese: analisi delle cause, misure adottate, impatti e lezioni apprese. Che ruolo hanno backup e digital forensics? I backup sono spesso l’ultima linea di difesa, ma funzionano solo se sono protetti, testati e realmente ripristinabili. Backup immutabili, copie isolate e verifiche periodiche fanno la differenza tra un’interruzione gestibile e una perdita irreversibile di dati, produzione e fiducia. Prima di ripristinare i sistemi, però, serve capire se l’attaccante è ancora presente. Le attività di Digital Forensics and Incident Response aiutano a individuare backdoor, persistenze e compromissioni silenti. Ripristinare un backup senza aver eradicato la minaccia può riportare l’azienda online solo per poche ore, prima di una nuova compromissione. Come spiegare il rischio cyber alla dirigenza? Il modo più efficace per coinvolgere la direzione è tradurre il rischio tecnico in impatto economico e operativo. Un sistema fermo non è solo un problema IT: significa ordini non evasi, produzione bloccata, penali contrattuali, perdita di fiducia e danno reputazionale. La cybersecurity diventa comprensibile al Board quando viene collegata a continuità, responsabilità e capacità dell’azienda di restare operativa anche sotto attacco.
